Director will assist in
determining zoning, water & sewer availability, floodplain
& watershed determination and addressing within the municipality.
If
rezoning, variance, conditional and special use permits are
required, the Planning Director will act as a liaison between the
applicant and the Boards. The Planning and Zoning Board is made up
of 12 appointed citizens who reside within the city and its Extra
Territorial Zoning Jurisdiction (ETJ). The Planning & Zoning
Board reviews all cases presented to them and makes a decision to
approve or deny the request. Their recommendation is then
forwarded to the Board of Aldermen for their vote. The
Planning & Zoning Board meet on the third Monday of the month.
The
Board of Adjustment hears Variance, Special & Conditional Use
requests. They meet the third Monday of the month. The
Board of Adjustment's decision is final and not forwarded to the
Board of Aldermen. The Board of Aldermen hear zoning cases
the first Tuesday of the month.
The
Planning Department is also responsible for Code Enforcement
within the municipality. This includes minimum housing
requirements, and condemnations in conjunction with the Randolph
County Inspections Department. The Planning Director issues
zoning permits and reviews plats.

hours for the Randleman Planning & Zoning Department are 8:00
A.M. to 5:00 P.M. (EST) Monday thru Friday.
