Residential Automated Curbside Cart

As a citizen of Randleman, you have been provided with a lightweight, curbside cart which is serial numbered and registered to your address.  Please record your cart’s serial number in case it is damaged or stolen.  We request that you use this cart for all your household trash, as no loose boxes or bags will be picked up.  If you have additional garbage that will not fit in your cart, you may stop by City Hall and prepay for an additional pickup.  Please reference the fee schedule at end for pricing.

Tips for easy garbage pickup:

• Fill your cart with regular household garbage throughout the week.
• Roll your cart to the curbside before 7 a.m. of your designated collection day.
• Place your cart at the curbside with the handle facing your house.
• Remove it from the curbside by 7 p.m. on your collection day.

Do not fill your cart with yard waste or over pack it so tightly that it prevents emptying.  Do not fill your cart with building material like lumber, dirt, concrete or rocks. 

Do not fill cart with hazardous waste such as hot ashes, paint, chemicals, acids or unbagged animal waste.  Also avoid blocking your driveway, sidewalk, or mailbox. 

Do not remove your cart from your address.  If you move, contact City Hall at 495-7500.

Leaf Collection

In October, November, and December the city will collect leaves at the curb.  No bags will be accepted.  After that period, all leaves must be bagged and prepaid for collection.

Brush

In order to better control the rising cost of waste collection, Randleman has implemented a system of prepaid brush collection effective August 1, 2005.  To schedule a brush pickup at your residence, stop by City Hall and pay for your pickup.  At this time, you will discuss the specifics of your pickup.  Please reference the fee schedule at end for pricing.

Bulk Items / White Goods

Large bulk items such as old appliances and furniture will be picked up on a prepaid basis.  Please stop by City Hall to pay and schedule this service.  Please reference the fee schedule at end for pricing. 

NOTE:  We are not permitted to collect building materials, tires, paint, pesticides and other household hazardous materials.  You are responsible for making other arrangements in disposing of these materials. 

Dumpster Service

The City of Randleman does not provide dumpster services.  If dumpster service is needed, please call  B.F.I. 1-800-782-0837 or Central Carolina Waste 672-1872. 

Recycling Center

The Recycling Center is located off Academy Street in the City Hall parking lot.  It is open Monday – Sunday, seven days a week, 24 hours a day.  There are 3 separate bins for the following items:

• Newspaper: newspaper only 
• Cardboard:  corrugated cardboard, please flatten boxes, plastic coated or tar-lined is not recyclable
• Plastic, Aluminum, Mixed Paper:  magazines, telephone books, office paper, cereal boxes, paper egg cartons, soda cans, beverage bottles, milk jugs, please rinse, remove caps, crush if possible
